Linocut printmaking epitomizes everything I am looking for in a medium: striking, clean lines and brilliant ink colors. Thoughts expressed on a linocut print cannot be subtle, but are instead bold and stimulating. There is irony in the process of carving, as it gracefully reveals each layer and yet creates a harsh reality with the permanence of each cut.
As my appreciation of the power of each medium grows, each succeeding composition expresses more freedom and personality. It is the beauty of simplicity that liberates me and enables me to search for what lies beneath.
